2009 Wrap Up
Great course, brilliant weather and top class riding and ...

What a day. Thank you to all riders and sponsors for a near perfect weekend.

Second year in a row that the young guns from Team Pushbikes have beaten off their rivals. New entrant Cycleways came in second with the Frontstore third.

Hard luck story was the Alpine Energy team who had a serious bike failure on lap one and had to run the bike back to the finish line and then on lap two had a massive off and Mark had to take a trip in the ambulance to check out his broken ribs. After two hours they had just started their third lap. They plugged on with just three riders and made it through to the midnight cut off and completed a respectable 20 laps. Best of luck to Mark for a speedy recovery.

Also best wishes to Dion from Cycleways Team and Mitchell Campbell who both suffered race ending falls.

Many thanks to our sponsors, volunteers, marshals, Red Cross and the Timaru District Council.

Special thanks to Wally Guise and Kelvin Fox for the course design and to roving marshals Wally Guise, Mike Holt, Craig Tindall, Kevin Johns, Allan Johns and Christine Gilchrist and to our other marshals from Riding for the Disabled and Rotary.

Mark Gurnett has taken some photographs and these will be available to view and purchase shortly.

Also shown are a couple of photos from Kevin Johnston (Parkside Peddlars). More Photos now loaded see menu link.

Provisional Date for 2010 event is Saturday 30th October.

Thanks from the team at Special Events.
